Yoga became the foundation I didn’t know I was missing—the building blocks that began to bring balance to a life that felt anything but. As a wife and mother of five (plus a few beloved fur babies), I was always doing, always giving, and rarely pausing. I kept myself busy to avoid the quiet, unsure of what I might find in the stillness.

But one day, something shifted. The signs aligned, and I found myself on my mat—not just moving, but truly listening. I began to feel the boundaries of my body, the rhythm of my breath, and the invitation to come home to myself.

In 2012, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training here at Jiva Yoga Center. That marked the beginning of my off-the-matpractice—the deeper journey toward presence, balance, and learning to embrace the silence I once resisted. While I still enjoy the physical practice and staying active, I’ve come to cherish the grounding stillness that yoga offers.

After four years apart from this island and community, I’m profoundly grateful to be back—reconnecting with old friends and making space for new ones.

May your life be meaningful. May you live each day with purpose. And may you always strive to be the best version of yourself.
