Almost ten years ago I left my home in Virginia Beach, Va with my dog, Brody, looking for adventure and found my way to Savannah, Ga. I have always been a seeker of sorts, searching for ways to deepen my understanding of myself, my intuition, and my higher power. Something about yoga caught my attention and drew me into what would quickly become one of my life's passions. Soon after my big move I met my husband, got married, moved to Bluffton, and fast forward nine years and two beautiful girls later, here I am. Shortly after moving down here I found my way onto my mat and began a steady practice that managed to sustain itself through two pregnancies and the demands of motherhood. I find a special type of freedom when I am on my mat, and it has become a place for me to connect with the deepest parts of myself and unlock strength I never knew I had. It wasn't long before I was approached by a mentor and encouraged to pursue a teacher training certification, but with two small children, and a job, the timing was never right. After the birth of my second daughter I left my career of 15 years as a hair stylist to be a full time mom. Although I love being a mom, I realized that I missed being part of a team. This past Christmas my husband presented me with the ultimate gift, a gift certificate for the 200 hour teacher training program through Jiva yoga! It was finally my time. The time I spent in training gave me a deeper understanding of myself and my yoga practice in addition to creating a hunger for more knowledge. I love the amazing support of my mentors and all the wonderful people I have connected with through the studio. I feel beyond grateful for the many blessings this lifetime has bestowed upon me and I am eager to share my knowledge and gifts with others seeking the same. For me yoga is so much more than a physical practice, it is a way of life, a way to spread kindness and connect with others. It is my hope that as a teacher I can continue to grow and learn, while sharing what I know and love with others.
