Yoga Classes Offered at Jiva

16Jiva offers yoga classes 7 days a week 

 Hilton Head Island

Please bring a mat,  sweat towel and a water bottle to classes. We have a water source and  Camelback water bottles can be purchased if you don't have one.

Yogi Toes or mat towel suggested for Hot Yoga and Vinyasa Flow classes. (avaliable in studio for purchase)

Vinyasa Flow
Our signature class! A dynamic blend of strength, sweat and spirituality that will detoxify, heal and electrify. This sequence will strenghten and tone the muscles of your body and mind, and is sure to take you to your edge. Modifications are offered.

Power Vinyasa
Our most invigorating class!  Based on the style of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, a practice that moves consistently from pose to pose - utilizing the principles of alignment, the practice of personal awareness and the breath, in a heated room.   This class is recommended for the yogi who wants to torch some calories and have some fun!  We recommend that the brand new student begin with our Basics classes to familiarize themselves with the Flow.  Bring a towel and water bottle! Be prepared to sweat and elevate your heart rate.

Rise & Shine
Our standard  All Levels flow class, in an hour format. Perfect for those bodies on the go. Wake up and smell the yoga.

Hot Yoga Flow
Our standard flow class format with the heat turned up 85-90 degrees! Please bring a sweat towel, yogi toes ( mat towel) and a water bottle. You dont' want to miss this chance to detoxify.

Slow Flow

In this slower paced vinyasa class, poses are held for  periods of time to allow for a deeper experience of the pose. Equal emphasis is placed on building strength and balance, breathing mindfully, increasing flexibility, strengthening mental focus, and relaxing into the moment.   Open to All Levels.

Community Yoga (Donation)

These classes follow the same format as our all level classe. We established these classes as a way to make yoga available to students of all economic levels. The proceeds in turn are added to a fund a local Charity.  Cost just a $5.00 Donation

Iyengar Yoga
features hatha yoga asanas (postures), done in a deliberate, sequential fashion, rather than as a flow, in order to emphasize precise body alignment and internal awareness.  Instruction is provided in use of blocks, straps, and blankets as needed to achieve correct alignment.

Slow Flow,  Deep Stretch
A mindful, soft flow with breath awareness to promote mobility and healing in the body.  Excellent for developing flexibility, core strength, balance, muscular strength and stress reduction. Find release from the stiff muscles in your back, neck, shoulders and legs. A therapeutic, yet invigorating class for those who are new to yoga, athletes, or for those searching for a relaxing yoga experience while exploring the details of breath and alignment.   Good for All Levels.

Basics

Great for beginning and experienced students alike, this class is designed to give you a language and an understanding of the practice(s) of Yoga. This class is designed to get you feeling stable, balanced, at ease and accomplished in your practice. The class draws strongly on the Vinyasa Flow Style of practice.

Gentle Yoga
Perfect for those seeking the gentlier side of Yoga.  Praynama (breathwork), seated stretching, balance poses are explored

Yoga Therapeutics

Yoga therapy, derived from the Yoga tradition of health care which refers to the adaptation and application of Yoga techniques and practices to help individuals facing health challenges at any level manage their condition, reduce symptoms, restore balance, increase vitality, and improve attitude.

Yin/Restorative yoga

opens up the deep, dense, connective tissues and joints of the body which are not often reached in an active yang yoga class. Each class offers a series of poses held for a considerable length of time to allow for complete and passive release.  Restoratives are meditative poses in which the body is supported with props and held for extended periods of time.  Open to All Levels.

Hour Of Power
An hour version of our signature class. Perfect for thoses bodies on the go! Be prepared to sweat and shine! Room will be heated  to 85 degrees.
