Our Story
Meet the Owners
Meet Jean & Ken
Hi there! I’m Jean, founder of Jiva Yoga. I opened our doors in 2001 fueled by a deep passion for yoga and a simple desire—to share this life-changing practice with as many people as possible. Back then, I supported my yoga dreams with my massage therapy business, which honestly felt like the little caboose chugging along and giving yoga the extra push it needed to grow.
And grow it did! What began as a small, heartfelt offering has blossomed into a thriving, soulful community of teachers, students, and seekers. It's become more than I ever dreamed—thanks to the magic of connection, consistency, and a lot of love.
In 2009, my husband Ken officially hopped on board as co-owner, and we’ve been a team ever since. Together, we’ve continued to nurture this space, always aiming to create an environment where our incredible teachers, therapists, and staff can truly shine and be themselves.
We’re endlessly grateful—for this practice, for this community, and for every person who walks through our doors.

“I had a wonderful experience at Jiva Yoga and will make it a point to go the next time we vacation in Hilton Head. The North location was beautiful, clean, peaceful and welcoming. Ken and Vickie made us fee very welcome and were most accommodating. I highly recommend this studio. The instructors message well, and inspire you to continue yoga practice. Thank you for helping us keep our bliss going”

“I came in not knowing ANYTHING about the discipline of yoga and their enthusiasm, their non-judgmental expertise, and their caring to keep me motivated made me want to learn more and more. The facilities are spotless, all of the staff are friendly, engaging and supportive, and I can't say enough about them. I only wish I had more time to go, because I have never had a bad session.”
